Fingerstyle Bouzouki is an intimate, fingerstyle legato bouzouki library.

Tonally, it sits somewhere between a steel-string acoustic guitar and a mandolin – the latter’s bigger, beefier brother. The moment we heard it, we knew we had to sample it.

Though Greek in origin, the bouzouki is remarkably versatile. It’s equally at home in western, cinematic, folk, indie, world, and ethnic music. The sustains/hammer-ons/pull-offs patch, in particular, is a joy to play and brings out the instrument’s expressive character.

As always, we meticulously programmed every articulation. Like our other guitar libraries, the legato patch features:

• Natural legato (full octave)
• Slide with pluck (minor 3rd to octave)
• Slide without pluck (half- and whole-step)
• Hammer-ons & pull-offs (half- and whole-step)

All transitions are seamlessly selected via velocity, allowing performances to flow naturally without keyswitches.

For the sustains patch, we also extended the lower range by an octave for additional flexibility. Purists, forgive us – but our left hands were begging for it. Enjoy!
